"I've kind of cooked my way through New York. I've done French food and wood-fired American food and Sichuan food and all these different foods, but I've always just loved sandwiches," she said. In the basement of the Coronado was “The Rathskeller”. That’s where Lindey served his first steak in 1958. Lindey had a lot of support from the local suppliers like Meat Distributors, St. Paul Bar & Restaurant Supply, and others.

They were willing to go along and support Lindey with his dream of having his own steak house. He worked extremely hard to make his dream a reality. His first big break came when Will Jones wrote an article about the Lindey’s in the Minneapolis Sunday paper. Lindey had no idea that Mr. Jones had been at the restaurant.

Join us for a classic steakhouse experience with modern flair, located where the Financial District meets the Seaport. Lindey’s seats on a first-come first-serve basis. We do like to know if there is a party of 7 or more and we will do our very best to arrange our dining room to accommodate you. We seat 120 people so if there is a wait it shouldn't be long. Our menu features 28 days of wet-aged USDA Prime steaks cooked in a 1,500-degree broiler served sizzling hot with clarified butter on plates heated to 450 degrees. At Mastro's we have an array of the freshest seafood selections, like our 2-foot-tall seafood tower of chilled crab legs, shrimp and oysters served over a cloud of dry-ice. Bespoke cocktails are dramatically presented in a haze of dry-ice, the list of world-class wine is extensive, and of course, Mastro’s has a premium selection of beer available.
